Doubling Productivity at Agilent

In 2015, we undertook a lean/agile transformation at Agilent Technologies that roughly doubled our productivity over three years.

Along the way, we learned…

  • Leadership habits that enable success

  • The critical importance of releasing quality software on a repeatable cadence

  • That keeping commitments to customers is a competitive advantage

  • How to do coordinated agile development on a global scale

  • Effective ways to coordinate with internal stakeholders while focusing on our customers

  • Effective ways to work with outsource developers

We struggled with repairing field quality, delivering on a cadence, and building credibility and trust with customers and internal partners.

(See Insights for more detail.)

This was a team effort. Many people contributed to the success recounted here. For brevity, I’ll use “we” to acknowledge those contributions.
